Build business model, value chain and IROs list
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Due Diligence module is designed to help companies conduct sustainability due diligence in alignment with EU regulations (such as CSRD and CSDDD). By leveraging Generative AI, the platform automates information extraction and delivers insights tailored to your specific sector based on your NACE codes.
The process is divided into 13 logical steps, moving from individual business components to a complete Value Chain and IRO list.
Phase 1: Defining the Business Model
Section titled “Phase 1: Defining the Business Model”In steps 1 through 10, you will define the core components of your organization. For each section, the AI Functionality will suggest industry-standard entries and extract data from your uploaded documents and website.

- Locations
- Document headquarters and all operational sites.

- Record key physical (facilities) and non-physical (IP, tech) assets.

- Identify critical upstream vendors and strategic alliances.

- Define and segment your primary B2B or B2C audience.

- Identify how the company generates income.

- Outline major fixed and variable cost structures.

- Explain how products/services reach your customers.

- List internal and external groups (employees, NGOs, investors).
- Policies
- Document the company’s formal commitments, ethical standards, and codes of conduct.
Phase 2: Visualization and Analysis
Section titled “Phase 2: Visualization and Analysis”Once the individual components are defined, the platform assembles them into a strategic overview.
12. Business Model Canvas
Section titled “12. Business Model Canvas”- Purpose: To compile all previous inputs into a structured, holistic overview.
- Action: Review the auto-generated layout to ensure it reflects your current business strategy.
- AI Functionality: Automatically populates the canvas using the data points confirmed in steps 1–10.
13. Value Chain Mapping
Section titled “13. Value Chain Mapping”- Purpose: To visualize the lifecycle of your products/services, including upstream (supply) and downstream (customer use/end-of-life) stages.
- Action: Define and refine the stages of your value chain.
- AI Functionality: Drafts a preliminary value chain based on your business model inputs.
Phase 3: Impact, Risk, and Opportunity (IRO)
Section titled “Phase 3: Impact, Risk, and Opportunity (IRO)”14. IRO Identification
Section titled “14. IRO Identification”- Purpose: This is the final goal of the process—to identify sustainability-related Impacts, Risks, and Opportunities.
- Actions: Review the AI-generated suggestions and select the relevant IROs to add them to the ESG Platform IROs Register.
- AI Functionality: The AI analyzes your NACE code and specific business model to suggest relevant IROs. It ensures you don’t miss industry-specific sustainability factors required for ESRS compliance.
